Arguments by the Governor
In the first season of the show, the Governor quickly became a cliché:
he ended up giving McGarrett lectures as to why it was important to go after
criminals. Steve obviously didn't need to know this, but the writers must have
felt that he should consult the Governor from time to time.
This list is being built up very slowly:
- 1. Full Fathom Five: "Two million guests a year pass
through here -- we invite them, and we're responsible for their safety."
- 2. Strangers In Our Own Land: "Steve, not only was Nathen
Manu one of Hawaii's finest citizens, he was also a close, personal
friend. I want you to pull out all the stops on this one."
- 3. Tiger By The Tail: (the Governor did not appear in this
episode).
- 4. Samurai: "Steve, you and Five-O have done a supurb job
for this state. And I'm on record: one of the smartest moves I've made
during my tenure as governor is to select you as head of your state police
unit. But this violence, this killing, must be stopped. Tokura has
to be brought to justice. It has to be done."
- 5. ...And They Painted Daisies On His Coffin: (the
Governor did not appear in this episode).
- 6. Twenty-Four Karat Kill: The actor who normally plays
the Governor (Richard Denning) had a different part to play in this
episode: Treasurer Philip Grey!
- 7. The Ways of Love
- 8. No Blue Skies: (the Governor did not appear in this
episode).
